The CapLinked team is pleased to announce several new features on our website. First, we’ve created an address book to help users share deals and keep track of prospective investors–it’s located on the “Contacts” tab when you’re logged in to the site. Initially, the address book can be used when you share a deal, making it a useful tool for companies raising capital or investors looking to syndicate a deal with co-investors. Over time, we’ll integrate the address book with other features on our site, including company profiles.

The address book makes sharing deals on CapLinked easier. Users can import contacts from their web-based email. (Note: Email addresses were redacted in the screenshot above.)

Users can populate their address book several different ways. Anyone that a user is connected to on CapLinked–either because he’s shared a deal with them or he’s part of the same company–will automatically appear in his address book. Users can also manually enter in new contacts.

Users may also import contacts from their web-based email to their address book with the click of a button. Users of Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Hotmail simply need to click on the corresponding button next to their address book to begin the importing process.

Like all information on CapLinked, your address book is private and cannot be accessed by others. We store your contacts for your personal use, the same way that LinkedIn, Facebook, and many other web services do. (Visit our privacy center to learn more about how we protect our users’ data.)

Finally, we’ve also added a new type of deal, “Asset Sale.” Since launching the deal feature just over a month ago, we’ve seen many different types of deals added to our platform, including Series A raises for growing companies, seed funding for startups, and even independent movie financings. We’ve also seen a number of real estate transactions posted on the system, so we opted to expand deal types to include asset sales in addition to equity and debt.

As always, we value your input on our product. Please use the “Feedback” tab on our website to let us know what you think.
